In what seems to be an unending influx of Chinese car brands in the Philippines this week, another one in the form of Jetour, a sub-brand of Chery Auto, has officially entered the market.
Jetour Auto Philippines is a partnership between the Gateway Group and Autospeedygo, both among the largest automotive dealership groups in the country, the brand’s entry comes with four new models which you can read about below.
Right now, the company is working on establishing its dealer network with at least six (6) targeted to be operational within its first year of operations. Four (4) of which would be in Luzon, particularly within Metro Manila, and one each in Visayas and Mindanao.
As for their model lineup, it starts with the QQ Ice Cream Sundae fully-electric vehicle. This one is powered by an electric motor that produces 27 hp and 85 Nm of torque with a top speed of 100 kph and driving range of 170 km. Some of its features include 12-inch wheels, an integrated infotainment screen and instrument cluster, and a reverse camera.
The Jetour QQ Ice Cream Sundae is priced at just Php 699,000, effectively making it the most affordable fully-electric car available in the Philippines.
The first model in the brand’s crossover lineup is the X70. This 7-seater compact crossover is available in three variants. The first is the Journey which comes standard with halogen headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and electronic parking brake. The mid and second variant is the Travel which gets larger 20-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof. Capping off the X70 line is the Sport which gets a power tailgate and brown leather seats.
The Jetour X70’s retails for a starting price of Php 1,099,000 for the Journey, Php 1,259,000 for the Travel, and Php 1,299,000 for the Sport.
Next is the larger X70 Plus, also a 7-seater compact crossover. Interestingly, this is actually the second generation of the X70 and it definitely shows with its more modern and premium looking exterior and interior details. This one comes with a similar feature set as the X70 but with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, and 6-way power seats.
The Jetour X70 Plus is priced at Php 1,499,000 and is the most expensive model in the brand’s local lineup.
Last but not the least is the Jetour Dashing which does certainly look quite dashing. This one gets a more extensive standard feature list including 6 HiFi Sony speakers for the audio system, headrest audio speakers, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, advanced driver-assist system (ADAS), sport seats, a center cool box, and a panoramic sunroof.
The Jetour Dashing is priced at Php 1,329,000. Interestingly, it is more affordable than the X70 Plus despite it being the flagship model of the brand and having the most equipment in the lineup.
It is good to note that the entire crossover lineup is powered by the same engine. They all get under the hood a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque. For the X70, it is mated to a CVT; a 7-speed DCT for the X70 Plus; and a 6-speed DCT for the Dashing.
As for warranties, customers who purchase any Jetour vehicle will be able to take advantage of a very competitive 6-year, unlimited mileage bumper-to-bumper general vehicle warranty, and a 10-year powertrain warranty which is one of the longest in the industry.
etour Auto Philippines and its four-car lineup will launch to the general public at the upcoming 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) this coming April 13 to 16.
