After announcing its intention to enter the Philippine automotive market, Jetour Auto Philippines has officially made its presence felt. Formally launching the brand at Okada Manila, Jetour Auto Philippines is under a partnership between two companies; Licup Group and Gateway Group.
Present during the inauguration and launching of Jetour Auto Philippines were key members from both Licup and Gateway. These include the president of the company Yves Jovincci Licup and the vice president Michael Goho.
Starting with the Jetour Dashing, this crossover features a Lamborghini Urus-like design with its aggressive grille, eye-catching LED daytime running lights, low-slung LED headlights, and a sporty front lip. Along the side, the vehicle comes with pop-out door handles and muscular wheel arches that give it a smooth and athletic physique. Last but not least, a pair of inverted L-shaped LED taillights and massive alloy wheels complete the Dashing’s sporty exterior.
Hop inside and the Dashing greets its occupants with a high-tech and relaxing cabin. Immediately noticeable are the distinct leather seats that feature unique headrests for the driver and front passenger. A fully-digital instrument panel sits in front of the driver along with a flat-bottom steering wheel that’s also wrapped in high-quality leather. Providing the necessary infotainment is a massive 12.8-inch touchscreen that also manages most of the interior amenities and features.
Other creature comforts present inside the Dashing include; front and rear center armrests, power adjustable seats, heated and ventilated front seats, LED ambient lighting, a 40W wireless charging pad for phones, USB charging ports, intelligent voice control, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, and a Sony sound system.
Under the hood, the Dashing gets a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It produces a respectable 156 PS at 5500 rpm along with a substantial 230 Nm of torque that comes in between 1750 to 4000 rpm. Power goes to the front wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. It also has two drive modes; Eco and Sport.
A full suite of intelligent driver aids is available on the 2023 Jetour Dashing. These include adaptive cruise control, intelligent high-beam assist, forward collision warning assist with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, and a reverse camera.
Other safety features present include the usual list of anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, traction control, stability control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and anti-rollover mitigation. For extra peace of mind, it has a host of airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system.
